Top (on sale + extra 30% off code: JULY19) // Earrings (Back in stock & on sale, big Tuckernuck Sale) I’m back with some more Friday Faves. I came across a few articles that I thought were really interesting (particularly for women over about 45). Also, some Amazon finds and a fun summer drink recipe. Metabolism After 50 We’ve all read about (and experienced, ha) how our metabolism slows as we get older. After about 45 or 50, it seems to be a particular problem, leading to weight gain among other things. Here’s a great article that talks about how to make over your metabolism. Hormones I have to admit that I’ve kind of ignored all the talk about women’s hormones until recently. Funny considering I’ve probably been in peri-menopause for years and my hormones have probably been wacka-wacka for most of this time period. Here is an interesting article that talks about hormone imbalances and what you can do about it. Things I’m Loving From Amazon Books I’ve Read The Lost Girls Of Paris won so many awards I couldn’t even list them all here. This is an amazing, true story of a group of women who acted as spy’s for Great Britain during the war. It’s a really captivating story. “Fraught with danger, filled with mystery, and meticulously researched, The Lost Girls of Paris is a fascinating tale of the hidden women who helped to win the war.” -Lisa Wingate, New York Times bestselling author of Before We Were Yours On Folly Beach is a great summer read and the perfect beach book. It’s about letting go and moving on and it’s one of those books that’s written so vividly that you can almost see the scenes and hear the sounds. Here’s the publisher’s review: When Emmy Hamilton’s mother encourages her to buy the local book store, Folly’s Finds, she hopes it will distract her daughter from the loss of her husband. But the seller has one condition that changes everything: Emmy must allow Lulu, the late owner’s difficult elderly sister, to continue selling her bottle trees from its back yard.  For the most part Emmy ignores Lulu as she sifts through the love letters she finds in a box of used books. But the more she discovers about the letters, the more she understands Lulu. As details of a possible murder and a mysterious disappearance during WWII are revealed, the two women discover that circumstances beyond their control have brought them together, here on Folly Beach. And it is here that their war-ravaged hearts can find hope again… Cool things I’ve been using You know when you put a dress or top on and somehow manage to get deodorant all over it? This handy little sponge will rub it right back off and it’s only $6.99. I bought it a few weeks ago and have already used it a number of times. Works great. It works on a number of other things too like pet hair and road salt. I’ve been using these hampers for years when we go on vacation. They fold up to nothing so they’re easy to store and it’s so nice to have a place for the family’s dirty clothes that’s not the middle of the floor. They come in multiple colors and some people use them to sort their laundry into whites and colors at home. Super inexpensive too, $6.99. Fun Summer Drink If you haven’t made Mermaid Water Rum Punch, definitely give it a try. It’s a delicious tropical mixed drink for the summer.
